“Blood cells that don't move cannot transport oxygen, lungs that don't move can't breathe, hearts that don't move can't pump blood, and spines that don't move can't create the motion required for proper joint nutrition, for the activities of daily living, or for the stimulation of the joint-brain pathways required for proper brain and body function.” - James Chestnut

Manual therapies have an immense ability to free up stagnation in tissue and restore motion.

In 2007 I opened my clinic Cheticamp, Cape Breton.  I called it “East Coast Therapeutics - Massage Therapy”. It was a name I chose after graduating from school. Over the years I felt that the name did not really reflect my work and I was always brainstorming better names in the back of my mind. But I could never come up with an idea that struck a chord with me. During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 I had a lot of time to reflect. After thinking about different names for quite a while, “Motion is life” struck me. It had been there all the time. I just never considered it as a name for my clinic. Now it just makes sense. “Motion is life - Massage Therapy & Acupuncture”

In my 15 years of manual therapy I have seen on a daily basis what lack of motion can do to a body. When people cannot move properly it really limits their ability to heal. It diminishes their quality of life and when a condition is chronic, it can affect all aspects of someone’s well being.

Through manual therapy and encouragement in self care and exercise, I hope to restore motion in your body and with that improve your quality of life.

Be well,

Roman
